Semen Inventory

GEM's Semen Inventory module tracks semen straws for bulls across one or more physical storage locations. Inventory is maintained as a running ledger of signed transactions — each add, subtract, or move is recorded individually, and the current balance for any bull and location is the sum of all transactions for that combination.

GEM's Semen Inventory module tracks semen straws for bulls across one or more physical storage locations. Inventory is maintained as a running ledger of signed transactions — each add, subtract, or move is recorded individually, and the current balance for any bull and location is the sum of all transactions for that combination.

Storage locations are structured hierarchically to reflect real-world physical containers (e.g., Tank → Canister → Cane). Locations used for semen storage are managed separately under Administration → Locations.

Reports

The auction module includes a wide range of reports covering every stage of the sale — from pre-sale catalogs and prep sheets through post-sale summaries, buyer analysis, and financial reconciliation. Most reports are available in HTML, PDF, Word, or Excel formats.

Add or Subtract Semen

This screen is used to record any change to a bull's semen inventory at a specific location — whether you are adding newly purchased or collected straws, or subtracting straws that have been used, discarded, or otherwise removed.
